Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Climate Change

Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Climate Change

The global climate is changing, due in part, to increases in concentrated emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) like carbon dioxide. GHGs trap heat, resulting in a warming atmosphere. Human activities like burning fossil fuels have contributed to increased GHG emissions. For more information on GHG emissions and climate change, check out the Pasadena Climate Action Plan.

Many communities, including Pasadena, have seen changes in weather and climate, including increased droughts, intensified rains and wildfires, and more frequent and severe heat waves. This project will focus on issues related to heat.
